Comments by The Founder, Charles H. Mann IIIQ: You have been an Assisted Living, Hospice and Home Health owner/operator for 22 years. Now you are expanding by developing and operating your signature, THE MANN HOUSE ASSISTED LIVING/ALZHEIMER’S BRAND, Why? A: Yes, we've spent over 22 years as a developer and operator of our Hospice, Assisted Living facilities and home healthcare operations. There is a rapidly growing need for seasoned, experienced operators who have proven success in caring for victims of Alzheimer’s and dementia, in particular. No other AL/ALZ operator in the county has more experience in this field than The Mann Group and our well known, The Mann House program. Thus, we are eager to offer our unique, proven program to other communities in the southeast and southwest. Since day one, we have always concentrated on Alzheimer’s/dementia care which is the legacy of The Mann House. Q: So, what makes The Mann Group different, from all the other healthcare and AL/ALZ operators on the scene today? A: Bottom line…. it is the many years of experience we have had in healthcare as a hands-on owner/operator of our own facilities. This enables us to conceptualize, build, and/or acquire new AL/ALZ properties based on our years building and refining our total healthcare, hospitality, social/entertainment/ activity program. Having 22 years behind us serving thousands of residents, patients and their families has prepared and enabled us to meet the many challenges our residents need and their families request and expect. Q: And how does that experience create better AL/ALZ service effectiveness for your residents? A: Well, we talk to them, and their families/ support structure, constantly. We listen, we communicate. But again, its our experience in operating healthcare companies over many years that gives us this deep understanding and insight into what people want and need 24/7. We apply this into our design programming of The Mann House. Each of our AL/ALZ residential properties embodies all of this knowledge and addresses all our residents’ needs which we, as operators as well as owners, recognize. Q: What do you see for the future in meeting the post retirement healthcare and housing needs and wishes of the rapidly expanding ranks of America’s Seniors? A: Well, it has become clear that fulfilling those needs is going to done by private companies like The Mann Group and not Federal or State governments. But, we have to be more nimble and flexible owners/operators. We not only must build what people want, but do it efficiently by controlling costs at every turn. This will enable us to affordably address the needs of America’s many new retirees and seniors with health and healthcare challenges whose ranks are growing very rapidly every year. Specifically, many will need the extra, specialized care often required for those with Alzheimer’s/dementia (50% of people reaching their 85th birthday will be plagued by Alzheimer’s). As a nation, we have fallen way behind in building proper facilities and care programs for these future residents and their multitude of needs. With our one-of-a-kind “The Mann House” residence and healthcare program, we anticipate a growing demand and a wonderful opportunity to address the near and long term needs of many more seniors by developing and operating new properties reaching out to serve many more aging Americans and their families in Georgia and other states. |
